Mott Hollow Historic District Randolph, NJ

Before the American Revolution, water-powered industries were operating in Combs Hollow and in the Quaker community of Millbrook, also known as Mott Hollow. By the early 1800's, small industries along the Mill Brook were processing textiles and manufacturing hats, rope and barrels.

At that time, this building was the Mott Hollow’s Oil Mill. It produced linseed oil from flax. This Mill was one of only two in Morris County in 1821. Today it is a private home. Gristmill Road in Randolph is on the National Register of Historic Places
