The building is faced in French and Texas limestone, making it one of the tallest limestone structures in the world.

    The Tampa Bay Hotel opened on January 31, 1891. Anton Fiehe, a landscape architect brought from France, designed the extensive grounds. Streams, ponds, golden carp, rare and exotic plants (some 150 varieties) such as orchids, palms, ferns, bananas, citrus and bamboo were found. At night, lights twinkled in the shrubbery around one pond-fountain area known as the Jewel Box. It was a popular area for seated refreshments. Though the hotel closed in 1930 and hunting ceased, with its bear, alligator, pigeons and squirrels, the grounds continued to be a community gathering place for strolls, conversation, concerts, sports and picnics.

    The first Catholic parish on Florida's West Coast was established in 1860 and named St. Louis Parish in honor of Fr. Luis de Cancer, a Dominican missionary who was martyred on the shores of Tampa Bay in 1549. In 1888, the Jesuits took over the pastoral responsibilities of the parish, and by 1897 it was decided that a new church was needed. Construction on the church began with a groundbreaking on February 16, 1898, with the laying of the cornerstone taking place on February 4, 1900. The dedication of Sacred Heart Church took place on January 15, 1905, and at that time the parish was renamed Sacred Heart Parish.

    The Jesuits built the church, at a cost of $300,000, and named it Sacred Heart. Today the building looks strikingly similar to the original, which was dedicated and opened January 15, 1905. The Romanesque architecture remains. The exterior is a combination of granite and white marble. Inside, most of the design is just as it was a century ago.

This small park offer bench style seating on its perimeter that is shaded by medium size oaks. Located in the park is this silver dome gazebo that once was located on the roof of a red brick courthouse that was built in 1892 and has since been demolished.

    The U.S. Courthouse Building and Downtown Postal Station, also known as U.S. Post Office, Courthouse and Custom House or the U.S. Post Office, Courthouse and Custom House, is a historic courthouse of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and later for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida in Tampa, Florida, United States. It is located at 601 Florida Avenue. On June 7, 1974, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Construction on the building was completed in 1905, under the supervision of James Knox Taylor, Supervising Architect `of the United States Department of the Treasury. It served as a courthouse of the Southern District of Florida from then until the creation of the Middle District in 1962, and then served as a courthouse for the Middle District of Florida until 2001. The building is now owned by the city of Tampa.

    The Tampa Convention Center is a mid-sized convention center located in downtown Tampa, Florida at the mouth of the Hillsborough River. It has both waterfront views of Tampa Bay and views of the city's skyline. Harbour Island is across the eponymous bridge on the other side of the Garrison Channel. Construction began in early 1989, with the city of Tampa paying the $140 million cost by issuing municipal bonds. It opened in October 1990.

    The center is connected to the neighboring Channelside District and Ybor City via the TECO Streetcar Line, which has a station across the street. The center opened in 1990 and encompasses 600,000 square feet in total. It has a 200,000 square feet exhibit hall, a ballroom capable of accommodating over 2,000 guests, and 36 meeting rooms that can be adjusted to various sizes. The facility hosts over 300 events per year.

    Built between 1888 and 1891, Tampa Bay Hotel, was designed to surpass all other grand winter resorts. At a cost of $3 million, the 511-room giant rose to a flamboyant height of five stories, surrounded by ornate Victorian gingerbread and topped by Moorish minarets, domes and cupolas. On Aug. 2, 1933, Tampa Junior College was transformed into The University of Tampa when its headquarters moved from the local high school to what is now known as Plant Hall. Leading the new institution was Frederic H. Spaulding, the former principal of Hillsborough High School and the man who had been the motivating force behind establishing the first local university for Tampa’s high school graduates.

In college football, Raymond James Stadium is the home of the annual Outback Bowl (since 1999) and Gasparilla Bowl (since 2018), hosted the ACC Championship Game in 2008 and 2009, and was the site of the College Football Playoff National Championship in 2017. Additionally, the stadium has hosted a wide variety of non-football events, including soccer matches, equestrian sports competitions, monster truck shows, and large concerts. It was also the site of WrestleMania 37 in April 2021.
