Entrance to Springwood Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt

The estate remained the center of Roosevelt's life and career, functioning as both a retreat and a "Summer White House". Springwood hosted prominent national and international figures, such as King George VI and Queen Elizabeth on the first visit of a reigning British monarch to the United States, and its porch was the setting of all of FDR's acceptance speeches.
